Volunteer Opportunities

Africa Orphan Program

The “Africa Orphan Program” changes that situation of orphans in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda by “Helping Children Help Themselves”. The only way these forgotten children can have any hope for a future that breaks their chains of poverty is to get an education. There is no other way. Through this program orphans live in a loving environment with other children where they receive an education, are safe, have good nutrition, have access to health care and have spiritual support. To learn more about our African Orphan Project please visit their website.

Avondale Transitional Housing Meals

The Avondale Transitional Housing Meals program is part of our Outreach Ministry.  Our parish provides dinner on the third Wednesday of each month to the residents of this low-income housing project on Avondale Way in Redmond.  Volunteers help prepare the meal and/or to help serve it. The commitment level is based on the volunteers schedule.  If you have questions or are interested, please contact Sue Campbell.

The Gabriel Project is part of our Outreach Ministry. Gabriel Project Ministers, called Gabriel Angels, offer support to a pregnant woman by offering the love, care, and spiritual, material, and emotional support she needs throughout her pregnancy. Trained volunteer mentors, called a Gabriel Angels, are matched with a pregnant woman and are responsible for ongoing contact throughout her pregnancy and beyond. Gabriel Angels are required to be compliant with the Safe Environment program. For more information or if you would like to volunteer, contact Patrick Koeplin.

The Homebound Eucharistic Ministry is part of our Outreach Ministry.  Our Homebound Ministry provides the Eucharist to those in our parish community who are homebound or otherwise unable to attend Mass. This includes not only those who live at home and are unable to attend Mass, but also those in assisted living centers, nursing homes, and hospice care facilities. The commitment level varies depending on whether the volunteer can provide regular Eucharist to a person in need or requires more flexibility.  Ministers are required to be compliant with the Safe Environment program. If you are interested in becoming and Homebound Minister, please contact Chris Gaines.

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain is part of our Outreach Ministry. The Prayer Chain serves as an instrument of the parish to lift others up in prayer. Members of our prayer chain are emailed a request and can pray for that request at their convenience. Volunteers commit to praying for the request that comes through the prayer chain, but the timing of the prayer and the prayer itself is all up to the volunteer. If you would have questions or would like to be on the email prayer chain contact Janet O'Neil or call the parish office at (425) 806-8096.
